Imperial Sovereign Protector is an existing rank from Legends.[1]
Candidates for the role had to pass an acceptance test, which featured a fight against a chrysalis rancor at the bottom of the Emperor's Citadel on Byss.
In late 5 ABY, Carnor Jax attempted to pass the acceptance test, but was interrupted during the fight against the rancor by Palpatine's activation of the Kaan Heptad.[2]
