Biography
Rise to prominence
Palpatine deliberately cultivated Kaine as a rival to Grand Moff Tarkin before Tarkin's death, as part of his general strategy to keep his servants on their toes.[2]
The stars align
Eight months after the Battle of Endor, Grand Admiral Ishin-Il-Raz remembered that officers from his own battle group had recently tried to convince him to ally with Kaine's Pentastar Alignment, which Il-Raz interpreted as a trick to defeat him.[2]
Legacy
As late as 27 ABY, Octavian Grant, now in retirement on Rathalay, still had nightmares about selling out Kaine to the New Republic. In those nightmares, Grant experienced the betrayal firsthand from Kaine's point of view.[3]
