The HRR series of retrieval droids was developed by Cybot Galactica over decades to perform search-and-rescue operations on starships.
When Mammon Hoole ordered his research droid DV-9 to investigate the derelict Keefe's Needle, DV-9 complained that an HRR-series retrieval droid would be better suited to that task.[1]
