Renewal is an existing procedure from Legends.

By 5 ABY, the Ubiqtorate had recreated the Renewal procedure developed by the Syndicat decades earlier. In the Derida complex on Phindar, the procedure was tested on Ken, who destroyed the equipment using the Force before being rendered unconscious by nerve gas. Warlord Zsinj had planned on stealing the procedure, but his plan failed.
