The production was part of a media strategy concocted by the Prophet of the Dark Side Cronal and produced in collaboration with Mahd Windcaller, which also included the holo series The Jedi Prince. Talking to the reborn Palpatine, Cronal characterized the purpose of his strategy as making the citizens of the galaxy long for Palpatine's return, which Palpatine recognized as a lie.[2]
