Massad Thrumble is an existing character from Legends.[1]

In 5 ABY, Thrumble was stationed on Dagobah in the New Republic's DRAPAC facility on Mount Yoda, where he worked on Project Decoy. When the Mount Yoda volcano erupted as a result of Jeng Droga's attack, Thrumble was able to evacuate, bringing his most important tools and creations with him.[2]
