The Empire Reborn is an existing Imperial splinter group from Legends.[1]
When Lord Hethrir felt Palpatine's clone die at the end of 5 ABY, he declared to his servants and slaves aboard the worldcraft Rebirth that the old Empire was dead and could now truly be reborn.[2]
